Patients & Families
For the second year in a row, the precious ballerinas and moms from Westwood Ballet organized with the help of Darby Calhoun, Children’s Harbor Activity Coordinator, a spectacular dream of an event for 40 seriously ill little girls. As soon as the little girls arrived they were whisked away to be “dolled up” for the ball. Each girl received her very own sparkly pink tutu, custom t-shirt and ballet socks. Once they were dressed they went to beauty stations to be fitted for a crown as well as a pearl necklace and bracelet and pampered with makeup. Then it was off to a special one-on-one meet and greet with Cinderella. Many giggles and smiles were shared as the girls talked about their hopes and dreams with Cinderella. A photo was taken as Cinderella presented them with a keepsake pointe shoe to commemorate the sweet memory. All the girls dressed to the nines then proceeded to the ball for a special performance by the Westwood ballerinas, an individualized ballet lesson, showing of the Cinderella movie with royal themed snacks and a father daughter dance to Stephen Curtis Chapman’s song, Cinderella. This event was so life changing and special for all these princesses.
