Three Birmingham-area companies went fishing for a cause and reeled in thousands of dollars for sick children and their families. Golden Construction and Appleseed Workshop partnered with H&M Mechanical in their 2nd Annual Giving Back Bass Tournament, benefiting Children’s Harbor with proceeds of over $12,000.

“Events like these truly make fundraising fun, and it was a great day of fishing,” said Myrle Grate, CEO of Children’s Harbor. “On behalf of the seriously ill children and families who will benefit from the tournament, we want to express our gratitude for this large donation.”

Golden Construction, LLC provides general contracting and construction services to clients in major industries, including the medical, commercial, industrial, multi-family and education fields. The Appleseed Workshop focuses on the Design Build process of construction projects. H&M Mechanical, a subsidiary of Comfort Systems USA, provides business solutions that address workplace comfort through its heating, ventilation and cooling services. The companies are based in Birmingham.

Through its Birmingham and Lake Martin campuses, Children’s Harbor offers patients and their families two unique environments to strengthen family bonds and find balance and support during and after hospitalization.
